In order to qualify for an invitation, attorneys must have tried at least 50 personal injury trials, and they must have won at least three verdicts in excess of $1 million or one verdict in excess of $10 million for their clients within the past five years.

He is an advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a member of the Board of Directors of the College Foundation of the University of Virginia, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society and is Board Certified in Civil Litigation by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification, formerly known as the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and received his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law, graduating in the top ten percent of his class.
