Priority advocacy issues are preserving freshwater and floodplain habitat, and fighting pollution and explosive development.
Arthur R. Marshall Foundation
Unites people with nature through grassroots Everglades restoration projects and science-based education. More than 15,000 students K-12 have taken advantage of hands-on learning about the Everglades ecosystem and its “River of Grass.” Volunteers have planted 100,000 native Florida trees in wetlands areas.
Audubon of Florida

Emerald Coastkeeper

Florida Outreach Center for the Blind, Inc.
A free full-service training facility founded in 2003 to empower the blind and visually-impaired. From expanded headquarters in Palm Springs, offers support groups, access to technology resources, and classes in Braille, computers, and life skills. Annual fundraiser is “Dining in the Dark.”
Florida Wild Mammal Association
Rescues, rehabilitates and releases sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife in five Florida counties: Wakulla, Franklin, Leon, Taylor, and Jefferson. Relying entirely on donations, grants, and volunteer services, has provided food and medical care to more than 7,000 mammals, birds, and reptiles; also conducts educational demonstrations in area schools.
Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc.
Supports American troops overseas with monthly “We Care” packages filled with luxury items, as well as true essentials, including hygiene items, and letters of encouragement; involved with booths at community events and fundraisers throughout the year, school projects, and send-off and welcome home ceremonies. Sending “a little bit of home” to assure they are not forgotten. Tax-exempt non-profit registered in FL and GA.
Friends of MacArthur Beach State Park
Unique park on northern coast of Palm Beach County is mix of tropical hammock, estuary, beach, dunes, and limestone rock reef; offers recreation and education activities. Volunteer opportunities range from animal care to beach cleanup to guiding nature tours. Friends group raises money to supplement State funding.

Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies
Educates women of child-bearing age about local health system, steers expectant mothers to accessible prenatal care, offers childbirth classes. Targets at-risk and hard-to-reach families, providing referrals to social service agencies if needed. Service Coordinators help mothers and fathers take responsibility for healthy children.
Historical Society of Palm Beach County
Collects, preserves, and shares Palm Beach County’s history through educational programs, lecture series, events, and walking tours. Headquartered in restored 1916 courthouse in downtown West Palm Beach, along with Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum and extensive library of local and Caribbean history.

Jack the Bike Man, Inc.
Not-for-profit organization that provides training and mentoring to at-risk children of migrant workers through after-school bike programs, including teaching bike repair skills. Founded by Jack Hairston, who has collected, repaired, and distributed thousands of bicycles to South Florida children and to families in Haiti, Nicaragua, and Guatemala.
Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful
Local non-profit affiliate of Keep America Beautiful that enhances appearance and sustainability of Palm Beach County through cleanup efforts, beautification of neighborhoods and roadways, and encouragement of volunteerism. Projects include Intracoastal cleanup, Lake Worth Lagoon protection, and Ecoart in Dreher Park.
Kids And Police Tennis Association
Tennis program initiated by non-profit Palm Beach County Police Athletic League (PAL) in partnership with Sheriff’s Office. For youngsters ages 5 to 18, PAL offers free sports activities as alternative to participation in illegal activities, and teaches respect for law enforcement. Other sports: baseball, basketball, boxing, football, golf, wrestling.
Kids in Distress
Nationally accredited South Florida organization devoted to preventing and treating child abuse and neglect. Wide range of programs includes 24-hour emergency safe refuge, in-home family reunification services, education for families at risk, foster care recruitment, and adoption support. Goal is a healthy permanent home for every child.
KidSafe Foundation, Inc.
Provides educational programs for children, parents, and teachers to prevent child abduction, abuse, bullying, and online dangers. KidSafe 8-week program incorporates song, art, role play and discussion; targeted to children ages 4 to 12 in pre-schools and elementary schools in Broward, Dade and Palm Beach Counties.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving
Founded in 1980 by a mother whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver, MADD's mission is to stop drunk driving, support victims, and prevent underage drinking. More than 300,000 lives have been saved in the last 30 years. Florida volunteer opportunities include training to be victim advocates and helping strengthen laws.
MorseLife
Consistent with its slogan, "Honoring Senior Living," this nationally-recognized non-profit provides health care, housing, and support services for Palm Beach County seniors and their families. Volunteers help seniors in long-term care and assisted living facilities; the Career Path Volunteer Program engages high school students in community service activities.
Multiple Sclerosis Foundation
Mission is to provide nationally accessible programs and support services to persons affected by multiple sclerosis, and to help them maintain their health, safety, self-sufficiency, and personal well-being. Works to heighten awareness of MS, to gain financial support for programs and services, and to promote public understanding.
National Alliance on Mental Illness of Palm Beach County
Affiliate of national grassroots not-for-profit serving as advocates for individuals and families affected by mental illness. Dedicated to promoting recovery, improving lives, eliminating stigma. Education programs include courses, meetings, publications, and Crisis Intervention Team that trains police.
Oliver's House
A West Palm Beach-based non-profit organization founded in 1999 for the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of dogs. Markets and delivers home-baked nutritious dog treats that help dogs take medication or recover from surgery or illness; 100% of revenue from sales goes to organization's dog rescue activities.

Project Lifesaver

Racing To The Rescue
A non-profit venue for racing fans and volunteers to respond rapidly to hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, etc. and help disaster victims. Safe Kids Palm Beach County
One of 49 chapters working with 600 coalitions nationwide to prevent unintentional childhood injuries, the leading cause of death and disability for children ages 1 to 14. Educates families online and through community programs, conducts research, provides safety devices to families in need, advocates for better laws to keep children safe. Safe Kids is funded by Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation.
Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary
Animal shelter with two purposes:
to provide spay/neuter services; and
to find adoptive homes for animals
that have been neglected or abused.
Animals are never euthanized; when
shelter runs out of room, they are
placed in foster homes until adopted.
