DEBORAH M. KNAPP joined the firm of Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley PA on July 6, 1976, working directly with Earl L. Denney, Jr. Prior to joining the firm, she was in the medical field, working at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas; at Good Samaritan and St. Mary’s Hospitals in West Palm Beach. She served as a legal assistant to Earl L. Denney, Jr. prior to becoming a paralegal. Ms. Knapp became a Florida Registered Paralegal in 2008 and works primarily with David K. Kelley, Jr. As a paralegal, she intakes cases, meets with clients, investigates accidents, and attends mediations, jury selection and trials.
Ms. Knapp’s affiliations include being a former Sergeant in the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office volunteer mounted unit contingent, where she conducted search and rescue work, did demonstrations with her horse at law enforcement events, attended parades, and patrolled parks and neighborhoods in Palm Beach County with the mounted unit to help keep our area safe. Ms. Knapp is also a member of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office Certified Emergency Rescue Team (CERT). This means she has had special training and has passed an examination to be a CERT member ready to be deployed in Palm Beach County when needed.
Ms. Knapp is a member of the Palm Beach County Justice Association, a paralegal member of the American Association for Justice and has been certified by The Florida Bar as a Florida Registered Paralegal.
