Attorney: Edward V. Ricci

Edward V. Ricci is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, Georgetown College, and The Benjamin School. Before attending law school, he was an Auto Safety Policy Analyst at Public Citizen in Washington, DC, the nation’s oldest and largest non-profit consumer advocacy organization.

After the Ford Explorer, Firestone rollover tire debacle, Mr. Ricci worked on the regulatory implementation of the Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation Act (TREAD) with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). He was involved in the research that led to the issuance of the tire pressure monitoring standards, which are now mandatory on all new motor vehicles.

He is also one of the authors of the consumer safety provisions included in the Surface Transportation Reauthorization Act (SAFE-TEA) that was signed into law August 10, 2005. The law requires NHTSA to issue minimum rollover propensity standards to protect passengers in rollover accidents, which now account for three times as many deaths than any other type of motor vehicle crash in America.

Mr. Ricci is a member of The Florida Bar, Palm Beach County Bar Association, Palm Beach County Justice Association, Florida Justice Association and American Association for Justice, and Attorneys Information Exchange Group for Crashworthiness.

Mr. Ricci works with other members of Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley law firm prosecuting crashworthiness, medical malpractice, and other significant tort claims.
